YouTube Music has officially launched "Ask Music", a cutting-edge AI-powered conversational radio feature that enables users to create customized playlists based on their unique preferences. This innovative feature has been gradually rolling out to users worldwide, including international markets, over the past few weeks.
As part of the YouTube Premium membership, Ask Music allows users to transform any idea into a personalized radio station. The feature is accessible via a purple card in the Home feed, which, when tapped, launches a fullscreen chat interface. Users can input a wide range of prompts, from brief keywords to more elaborate sentences, to create a unique playlist.
Once a prompt is entered, YouTube Music's AI technology quickly generates a playlist card with a translated title and description. The first track automatically begins playing, and users have the option to save the playlist to their library or provide feedback.
Initially tested in the United States, Google has confirmed plans to expand the feature's availability globally. Recent reports indicate that Ask Music is now accessible in Canada and Australia, with English being the primary language supported. However, it is currently only available on Android devices, with iOS compatibility yet to be announced.
The introduction of Ask Music marks a significant milestone in YouTube Music's efforts to revolutionize the way users interact with music streaming services. By harnessing the power of AI, the platform is providing users with a more personalized and engaging listening experience.
